I am a stay at home mom, I have an online business so my competitive advantage would be what I want to sell or market in a particular niche. When a company loses it competitive advantage, its profitability fails. This means, that the company is not necessarily failing rather that they may just have to lower their prices to have average or below average profitability. The thing that you have to remember when having an online business is building customer relationships. If you can win a customer over, by allowing them to put trust in you, you have just developed a partnership with them.
How do you build customer trust and loyalty?
Try to build a relationship within your website. Include a biography about yourself and what your mission is to serve them. Give them 100% satisfaction gauranteed. Give them a refund if not satisfied. Give them free shipping. All of these things will allow a customer to trust you and your product you are selling. Remember that the source of competitive advantage is superior value creation. This means that whatever you are selling you must put all of your efforts into making sure that it meets or exceeds customer expectation. I believe that if you can build a great product, than you can sell online AND become successful as stay at home mom.
