So my mother in law decided to research online how to make your own Laundry Soap. She stumbled across a recipe that she decided to try. The end result was she absolutely loved it! She gave me a sample of it and I really truly loved it. So I got the recipe from her and just recently went and got the ingredients to make my first batch. I am not sure where she pulled the information from but I thought I would share it with you in case you want to save money on laundry soap. What I bought cost me $7.00 and I only scratched the surface with how much more I will be able to make. My first batch of laundry soap gave me 3 gallons of soap and it probably cost me less than $1.00!!!! So here is the recipe that she gave me:
1/3 Bar of FelsNaptha
1/2 c. Washing Soda
1/2c. Borax 20 mule team
1/3 Bar of facial soap
Shave both bars of soap in small pieces combine with 4 c. water and heat on stove until the soap melts stirring frequently. When the soap is melted turn heat off and add washing soda, borax and 12 quarts of water. Keep stirring until solution is well blended. Let sit for 24 hours and stir from time to time. Enjoy your homemade laundry soap!! As a stay at home mom I am always looking to help our family budget, I hope this helps you as well.
