Marketing your online business can be very strategic when your target audience is the general population. If your job is focused on a stay at home mom job then more than likely your target audience is women and children. That being said, once you figure out who your target audience is, you can begin to market your product or service specifically. Keep in mind that when marketing your product you want to address what you can provide for your audience that will benefit them. Earning their trust is very important, to do this you may want to give them a little background information on yourself. You can begin by telling them that you were in their shoes at one time, wanting and searching for a stay at home mom job because you wanted to be home to watch your little one(s) grow but yet still have a flexible enough schedule to work and earn an income as well. - Develop a website – I like to use wordpress which is a very user friendly program. You can download different themes which layout your webpage in an organized fashion. Choose the theme that best represents what you are offering.
- Develop business cards – by developing business cards you are telling the customer that your business is well established and ready to provide them with outstanding service. Even if your customers are from a different country you can mail them your card and use this tactic as a way to market your business.
- Develop a brochure – brochures and business cards go hand in hand just brochures give a more in depth description of your business such as the background of how long you have been in business, who your target audience is, what product/service you offer, customer testimonials, etc. Brochures are a great marketing tactic to use for local and distant customers. Make sure to reference your website so that your customers will have something to further research about your business. Although you want your main stream traffic to be targeted to your website, brochures and business cards offer something tangible that instills trust in your company.
- Google advertising – when anyone does a search on google they type in keywords specific to what they are looking for. For example, if a customer types in “stay at home mom jobs“, this website would rank for google due to content. Therefore, the better I rank the more visitors, the more visitors the more profitable my business. The other option you have is advertising with google. To do this, you need to contact google sales and on a budget. Depending on your budget determines how many times daily your ad will appear at the top of google search engines when a customer types in your keywords specified to your niche. So say I advertised with google and someone searched “stay at home mom jobs” I would be at the top of the list to choose from so I would have more traffic on my site.
